Share The Future

Collaborating empowers control over life, from prices to lifestyle, through to partnering and cooperatives are vital for navigating disruptions and breakdown, and fostering equity in transitioning to a balanced economy for all.

We support implementation of the cooperative system because its inner spirit is one of coordinated cooperation. Only the cooperative system can ensure the healthy, integrated progress of humanity as a major pillar in bringing society together.
As small co-ops emerge within districts, they integrate into a cohesive network, benefiting communities and collaborating with local authorities. Cooperatives emerge as a significant sector alongside key industries and small businesses - FormCo-ops Catalyst.

Revitalizing Communities through Cooperation
Cooperatives stand as a beacon of solidarity, offering a unique model of economic and social organization that prioritizes collective empowerment and mutual benefit. Operating across a diverse array of industries and sectors, cooperatives embody the ethos of democratic control, equitable distribution of resources, and community-driven development. At their core, cooperatives exemplify the power of people coming together to address shared challenges and pursue common goals.
Bring enterprise with 'localisation'
In a market economy, one of the most striking features of cooperatives is their scalability. From small-scale community enterprises to large multinational cooperatives, this model has demonstrated its capacity to thrive at various levels of operation. At the local level, cooperatives play a vital role in revitalizing communities by providing employment opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship, and retaining wealth within the region. Through collaborative efforts, members pool their resources to create businesses that meet their needs and aspirations, ensuring economic resilience and social cohesion.

One significant group would be the formation of Universal Basic Income startups who lobby local government representatives. Existing social support groups could adopt a co-op venture.

A cooperative network brings about new ways to interact, with less reliance on money such as time-valued work exchanges and sharing resources: See WorkTrader.org
Any group of people brought together by a common interest can form a cooperative entity. In such settings, power, accountability, and decision-making are shared among members, demonstrating a collective dedication.
Cooperatives can operate as customized democracies, finely tuned to the unique requirements of each participant in a concept termed 'personalization.'
As our society moves ahead, the role of cooperatives stands ready to grow, offering a fairer distribution of wealth and resilient conditions. It is our responsibility to shape this future in line with our vision of an advanced society grounded in democratic principles.

Dear [ Sir/Madam/Representative/Friends/Leader ],
As our society moves ahead, the role of cooperatives stand ready to grow, offering a fairer distribution of wealth and resilient outcomes. It is our responsibility to shape this future in line with our vision of an advanced society grounded in democratic principles.
To talk of better standards of living, progress and a future for all is a complete contradiction of terms as we face several emerging crisis including that of our oceans and ecology.
We are on the cusp of tipping into irreversible global warming as the sign posts of unfolding disasters, demonstrates the utter failure by corporations and governments to respond with utmost urgency to our oncoming dilemma while promoting mere gestures in the scheme of things and convincing many that this crisis will fix itself.
There is also the deteriorating state of economic affairs, where is is clear to see citizens are struggling with the cost of living and have little discretionary spending power that also impacts small business operations.
Localisation of business is crucial to improving prosperity and business as usual is no longer an option while developments by and large continue as if there are no tomorrows and little foresight.
We ask for your help to communicate our message of cooperation required implementing a wide range of cooperatives in readiness for a pathway of action and a transition that values all of us. Our collaboration includes www.ClimateSafeVillages.org 'Stay Where You Are Hubs' and www.JobOneForHumantiy.org – Think Tank On Global Heating and Plan B.

Due to oncoming climate change tipping points outlined by JobOneForHumanity.org think tank, cooperatives play a vital role in preparing for greater disruption and adapting to a transition we help define.

How can we live safer, more sustainable lives despite climate challenges? Whether staying put or considering relocation, we can act now. Enhance home and garden, acquire new skills, and foster community networks for resilience. Practical measures will focus on immediate actions, not policy debates, covering threats like heat and emergency readiness. Suggestions cater to various settings—from urban homes to rural and renters. Let’s Start Where We Are and form cooperative groups that can interact with local authority. Support an alliance with JobOneForHumanity.org and similar groups.
HEAT MITIGATION
-
Shade: Plant large trees or choose shaded homes. Install pergolas or awnings.
-
Passive Geo-thermal: Utilize naturally cool spaces like below-ground rooms.
-
Insulation: Seal and insulate well. Conduct a Home Energy Audit for guidance.
-
Fans: Employ ceiling, floor, and box fans; use battery-operated options for outages.
-
Dehumidifier/Air Conditioner: Use efficient units sparingly; explore heat pumps.
-
Location: Consider cooler areas if feasible.
RESILIENCE & COOPERATION
-
Advocate for more shade trees locally.
-
Preserve existing trees with neighbors and trusts.
-
Support others in adopting these measures.

How To Formulate A Local Climate Safe Cooperative by Leonora Camner
POLICY STATEMENT ON COOPERATIVE ENTERPRISE
In a PROgressive Utilisation economy, where Theory meets practical expression; cooperative enterprises across various sectors—such as production, consumption, agriculture, services, and banking—play a central role. Managed and owned by their workers, these cooperatives are fundamental to an economic model that emphasizes balanced resource utilization rather than unchecked growth. The essence of the cooperative enterprise system lies in "coordinated cooperation," where individuals, endowed with equal rights and mutual respect, work together to advance their collective well-being. This contrasts sharply with "subordinated cooperation," which characterizes situations where individuals work under hierarchical supervision. The latter was evident in state-socialist communes formed through forced collectivization. Unlike subordinated cooperation, true coordinated cooperation is not a dominant value in any existing economic system today.

Towards Cooperatives And Economic Democracy
Switzerland is renowned globally for its robust political democracy, distinguished by extensive use of direct democratic mechanisms such as referendums and popular initiatives.
Citizens are empowered to participate directly in decision-making processes, proposing new laws or challenging existing ones. Such active engagement engenders deeper understanding and mutual interaction among people, enhancing their ability to navigate disruptions and challenges.
A high level of citizen involvement ensures government accountability and closely mirrors public preferences, thereby bringing societal stability and reducing polarisation. This governance model significantly contributes to Switzerland's high standard of living, while addressing social and environmental conditions. . .
-
Direct Democracy: Empowering citizens through direct participation in legislative processes.
-
Decentralized Government: Distributing authority across federal and cantonal levels, tailoring policies to local needs.
-
Consensus Politics: Promoting collaboration and compromise among diverse interests.
-
Political Stability: Ensuring continuity and predictability in governance.
-
Rule of Law and Transparency: Upholding strong legal frameworks and accountability.
-
High Quality of Life: Providing excellent public services and infrastructure.
-
Education and Civic Engagement: Investing in education and promoting active citizenship.
Switzerland consistently ranks among countries with the highest global standards of living due to factors such as high income levels, excellent public services, a well-educated workforce, comprehensive healthcare coverage, safety, economic diversity, and low crime rates.
Extensive cooperatives form an integral component of Switzerland's economic framework, promoting wealth distribution and innovation within a market economy.
These cooperatives facilitate resource utilisation and help maintain a sustainable economic balance without the pressure for perpetual growth.
A prosperous steady state economy is achievable in a cooperative system in unison with the small business sector.
The Swiss model transcends conventional economic labels like capitalism or socialism and is a growing synthesis that encourages community-driven initiatives.
Reform-minded political parties and advocates pushing for a deliberate shift in response to economic and climate impacts that are gaining momentum, act for greater resilience and set in motion a progressive social system based on political, economic, and participatory democracy and take cooperation to a new level.
