  COOPERATIVES

                                                                'Share The Future'

"Society's paramount goal should be the holistic development—physical, mental, and spiritual—of all its members. This ensures unimpeded personal evolution, fostering true human nobility." (From: Transition To A New Era by Ronald Logan)

In addressing systemic challenges, a progressive social system must embrace a balanced framework, including robust cooperative development, even on an industrial scale. Beyond political democracy, economic democracy and personalised democratic approaches are crucial, tailored to individual needs.

Cooperatives play a pivotal role in achieving synthesis, enhancing wealth distribution, and bolstering local industries, thereby sustaining local economies and fostering job creation. They unite economic entities with regional assets and resources, akin to a form of 'mass capitalism' that efficiently generates wealth through innovation and entrepreneurship, benefiting all members of society.

Moreover, comprehensive consumer, producer, and industrial cooperatives promote an economy mindful of its environmental impact and technological implications. Unlike large corporations, cooperatives, driven by democratic principles, mitigate the risk of detrimental practices that harm both people and the environment.

Yet, it is essential for cooperatives to maintain ethical leadership and avoid compromising principles for vested interests—a topic warranting separate discussion.

Furthermore, key industries, potentially structured as cooperatives, should fall under governmental oversight, reflecting societal interests in alignment with democratic values.

To achieve true democracy, actions must encompass automation management, resource utilisation, and the implementation of transitional measures like Universal Basic Income, responding to growth needs rather than growth for its own sake. Current paradigms rooted in greed and elite competition, exacerbated by climate change and excessive military spending, necessitate urgent redirection of resources toward clean energy and technological optimisation.

Effective governance demands policy reforms that acknowledge our predicament and prepare for meaningful transitions. Embracing cooperatives is crucial, not only to fortify democracy but also to build resilience and prosperity. They embody a cultural and spiritual outlook essential for socio-economic progress, steering society from materialism towards deeper realisation and liberation.

Benefits of Cooperatives:

  • Empowerment of citizens through direct participation in decision-making processes, fostering deeper mutual understanding and resilience.

  • Ensured government accountability and stability, reflecting public sentiments and enhancing societal harmony.

  • Promotion of collaboration and compromise among diverse interests, ensuring political stability and continuity.

  • Upholding of strong legal frameworks and transparency, supporting a high quality of life and robust public infrastructure.

  • Investment in education and active citizenship, empowering individuals and communities.
